This was a fun ride on CR1 today. Turn around at mile 20 due to approaching storms. I managed to dodge the first storm only to be broadsided by another. At mile 32 the heavens opened and 3 bolts of lighten struck around me. That is when I made a beeline to the nearest shelter. I waited in a horse barn for nearly 45 minutes for the majority of the storm to pass.

Total ascent 1300 ft.

HOT run. Really didn’t need it but the run was an opportunity to train in the heat. I love the tough stuff. The HR was through the roof on the last 2 miles.

I have the Philly LiveStrong century ride this weekend and my last 100 miler was at IMLP.  This is the third year I have done this ride.  Should be a fun ride with the over 7000ft of climbing.  It’s a tough ride as well with about 10 good 8-10% grades and 3-4 12-15% or greater grades.  You really suffer.

I lost both my parents to cancer, one grand parent, my father in law and a few dozen friends.  So this ride is very special and I ride it in their memory.  I also try to raise money for the Lance Armstrong LiveStrong foundation.  My goal in the past has been met but this year has been tough rising money.  So the money goes for cancer research and victims of cancer.

Got back home Sunday morning around 10am’ish on the red eye from San Diego.  The red use to be so much fun, few people and quite, this flight was not.  Stacy got maybe 1 hr of sleep I got maybe 3hrs. 

So Sunday was a big nap going to follow by yard work and a short run.  Didn’t happen as planed, woke up around 4pm to spend a few hours cutting the grass and yard work.  Lawnmower died can’t complain it lasted 8 years as a freebie.  Now Monday will work in the am, buying a mower and finishing the yard. 

Still no tri training and this month is looking real sad.  I got to get this kick started again.  You would think driving 2700 mile across country and a few days of vacation I would be good to go.  I felt better right after LP.

NO tri training.  Work, seach for lawnmower, cut grass and finish yard work.  I love going on vacation, non stop, gota do this and that and then come home and do stuff at home.
