Running at sea level rocks!

Clearly one major area that aquajogging doesn't address in run training is the toughening of skin on the feet.  Somehow during yesterday's run, I managed to get a couple of blisters on the bottom of my feet.  The strangest one is on my big toe, between the pad of my toe and the ball of my foot.  Guess I won't be using those socks again!

The drive in wasn't too bad, considering the weather.  Given that it's only going to get up to 16 today, I'm going to try to get in a TM run at lunch.

MS: K 400 (100 K on board, 50 K on side, 100 K on board, side, board) on 10 sec. rest; S 100 medium effort and perfect form; 5 X 150 (50 catch up drill, 25 single arm, 25 single arm with other arm, 50 FAST) on little RI; S 400 at medium hard effort.

This morning, I am in seeing the chiro/ART guy again for my foot, they are doing ultrasound, which they have done pretty much twice a week since I twisted it, and for the first time it hurts--like a sharp pain that causes me to pull my foot away.  After checking out the machine, the doc notices that they had it set to 'continuous' instead of 'intermittent.'  On 'intermittent' there is no pain.  He says they occassionally see that type of reaction, but usually only in the case of fractures(!), or occassionally in severe tears to the small fibers that connect to the bone.  Doc tells me not to worry about it, I'm doing fine, keep doing what I'm doing.  UUuuuhhhh???  Thoughts, anyone?

Rest day!  This is going to be a crazy week, with work being extremely busy, and traveling on Thursday and Sunday.  At least I get to really run!

Nice slow easy ride with Ocky and Cathy along the South Platte! We started at Aspen Grove and rode to REI and back. It was awesome having Cathy come out to ride with us!
