Bags are packed, nutrition is purchased, and boarding pass is printed! Cold seems to be on the decline, and I'm hydrating furiously. Looks like I'm all set for this marathon!
Goals for the race: steady or neg split the race. Shooting for 4:10--maybe better. ;)
Have a great weekend everyone! Train hard!
October 4
Massage and a short run today. Then, packing!
BPs today: 130/89, 129/88--Not great, but much better than 160 something!

Had my annual check-up yesterday. I got a tetanus booster, and my arm is really owie!! Interestingly, they are worried about my blood pressure. I'm 31 years old, did a marathon, 2 HIMS, and an IM this year, and am tapering for another marathon this weekend, and I have BP issues? Gotta love genetics! Doc wants me to check it at the grocery store a few times over the next couple of weeks, and then regroup. If it is high, she's probably going to have to put me on meds, since I'm already doing pretty much everything she would tell me to do. The one other non-pharmaceutical thing that I could try that helps some people would be to almost completely cut out salt. How does an endurance athlete do that??
Fartlek run later.

That hurt. I'll post the details in my RR, but the summary is: I set a new half mary PR on the first loop, then my ITB tightened up at mile 15, and my knees started to scream at me. The last 10 miles was a sufferfest. Still, I PR'ed the full mary by 5 minutes, and I came in 10th in my AG.
Mom finished the half-mary 20 minutes ahead of me.
