It was HOT, and I didn't want to get too dehydrated, so I cut this a little short.
AHR for the warm up:146 (34:09).
Then short tempo run--it generally felt like crap, with lots of fits and starts. For 16:12, I averaged 8:20/mi, ahr 180. After that, I was blown. I think it was either heat or pushing it a bit too hard (the hr spiked in the upper 180's several times, and the first 7:13 was at 7:44/mi pace).
Then a very long c/d.

REST DAY!! :)
Turns out 2069 is a prime number...I don't know what that means from numerology perspective, but I'm going with, "That's really cool! Prime numbers bring great luck!" ;)

Rode at CC. Didn't have my GPS, so I had to estimate 5k by time.
1: 8:03 ahr:167
2: 8:20 ahr: 171
3: 8:58 ahr: 170 (actually ended around 8:00, but forgot to stop the watch--hr was higher)
4: 8:53 ahr 166 (again, forgot to stop watch)
5: 8:04 ahr 172
Legs felt great at the end of this!!
1:30 spin this evening with 5x5k TT intervals on a flat to rolling course. Cherry Creek, maybe?
One week to departure! Looks like the RD finally got the Athlete's Guide up! :)

Pulled awhile.
Kicked 150
Hmmmm...who's in a taper? ;)
OK, so I didn't get much packing done last night...actually, I got no packing done last night. But I did finish all the laundry, and I have done the trip to the grocery store for food for the drive and pre-swim on Thursday. I have gone over all my stuff so many times, it's incredible. Ocky took the pups to the kennel this morning :(. He is hoping to race this afternoon--wish him luck (for both the race and keeping me sane this weekend)!
When I get home this afternoon, I'll lay out everything, then throw it in a bag (or 2). I'll practice changing the tube on my rear tire a few times (want to be able to get the tire back on without using levers). Dinner is going to have to be some sort of take out--maybe Tokyo Joe's. Then I'm going to try to get to bed early, and will probably take a tylenol pm to make sure I sleep.
When we get in tomorrow, I'm supposed to try to do something for 30 minutes--I'll see if the pool is still open. Thursday is a swim-run brick--I hope to meet the other BTers for the swim, then breakfast and registration. Water is 59 degrees at last check, so I should be awake after this! Friday is a rest day--trying to decide if I want to stay clear of the village entirely so as to keep the nervous energy to a minimum. Saturday I have a 30 minute ride, then have to check in my bike.
I'm not sure how much I'll be able to get on BT while I'm in CdA, but will post when I can. Thank you all for your positive thoughts and inspires. I could not have gotten this far without the BT crew.
On Sunday, please send strong and steady vibes my way!
