August 10

Run
  • 39m 55s
  • 5.22 miles
  • 07m 39s /Mi

Short and sweet.

I passed a girl riding her bike today. Granted she was going uphill. And she was like 12. But I still felt good about it ;)

Taper is in full effect. All I have scheduled for today is a 5 mile run. That's it.

August 9

Bike
  • 1h 58m 13s
  • 40.18 miles
  • 20.39 Mi/hr

Goal was to just take it easy. I got about 10 miles from home and saw the line of rain clouds getting closer so I tried to race them home. Not more than 5 miles later the downpour started so I eased off again. For some reason it was oddly refreshing

Woke up this morning, checked the radar, and realized I needed to get out the door if I wanted to stay dry for the majority of my ride. I was 5 miles from home when the rain hit. It's sunny now. Go figure.

The calf feels absolutely fine today, which makes me happy. I have to go into work for a few hours today, which makes me not so happy.

August 8

Swim
  • 1h 20m
  • 4000.00 yards
  • 02m /100 yards

4 X 1000

Thought about doing an extra 224 yds, but thought, nah, there's going to be plenty of that next year

So I woke up this morning and did one of those full body yawns. My right calf completely seized up. It was one of the most painful things I've ever felt. I'm having trouble walking on it now. It looks like the workouts will have to wait. Seriously, who injures themselves while yawning? Apparently me.

August 7

I'm taking a rest day today.  And I mean a real rest day.  No core, no yoga, no walking.  It'll be my first full day off since January.  No peach challenge for me this month.

Work picnic is tonight.  This is always a fun annual event in which my boss proceeds to get wasted and say a bunch of stuff he shouldn't while his wife tries to get him to shut up.  Good times :)

August 6

Bike
  • 2h 10m 28s
  • 44.21 miles
  • 20.33 Mi/hr

4' intervals

I made huge progress in the messy apartment last night. It feels good to be productive. Let's see if that carries over to work today. Somehow I doubt it.

August 5

Swim
  • 49m
  • 2500.00 yards
  • 01m 57s /100 yards

Ladder
100
200
300
400
500 and back down

Run
  • 59m 23s
  • 8.03 miles
  • 07m 24s /Mi

0.5 mile intervals

Okay 2 goals for the day: Work only 8 hours (8.5 so close) and be in bed by 10 (In bed at 9:58, not asleep though).

That, and I should probably get both my swim and run workouts in this afternoon (done and done). Okay, I lied. 4 goals for the day.

And then there is all of this unpacking that needs to be done. I need to get all of my clothes unpacked (Half done). It took 10 minutes to find a shirt for work this morning. Sooooo let's make that 5 goals.

There. Hopefully that's not too ambitious.

August 4

Bike
  • 2h 21m 15s
  • 44.09 miles
  • 18.73 Mi/hr
I managed to down an entire plate of cookies in the last 2 days. Living by myself now I knew I would be "forced" to eat them because no one else would. The good news is along with the cookies I got zucchini, broccoli, green beans, onions, and peppers from my parents' garden. So once I uncover my cookware in the mounds of boxes in my apartment I should be able to eat somewhat healthy

RR is up!
