Kinda achey this morning.  Having been gone for a week, I think it's just getting re-accustomed to being in my normal bed.

Was in Houston, and decided to try the club ride with the local shop (Sugar Cycles); I rode with their 'A' group. Wowza! I managed to keep up for most of it. We were pacelining between 21.5 and 24mph, so it was definitely a challenging ride.

Interestingly, my HR never went high. Instead, I just felt it in my muscles. Not burning muscles, like a sprint, but that constant effort where you feel like "I'm ok at this moment, but if I bump it up one another notch for very long, I'm probably going to cramp."

Legs were also a little sore from the intervals yesterday evening.

Run
  • 23m 52s

It was a gorgeous day, and I felt good coming in from the bike, so I decided to add a small brick. Didn't go so well. Faught a cramp from the start, and eventually had to walk some right at 15min (~2mi).

70deg. Used park at end of street for 800m loop.

Not thrilled w/ the splits. Was targeting ~3:08 / 800m. First two OK (or even too fast), but HR high. Blew up on third one, then remainder had pace too slow (but HR more in control). After first two, had to take 90sec RI, instead of 60sec.

Splits:
1.5mi wu/cd
6x800m - 3:01, 3:09, 3:18, 3:14, 3:16, 3:12

Arrgh.. another busy day.  Didn't get the swim in early, and I've been running around ever since.  Looks like I may miss workouts again.  I know it shouldn't bother me, but this is getting frustrating.

-----------------------

Ok, did squeeze time in the afternoon to do the run I missed yesterday.  6x800 at ~10sec/800 below 5K pace.  (A challenging zone 4-5 workout.)

Sheesh... just busy with work and taking care of kids.  I didn't get either the bike or the run in today.  :-(

Good ride in the neighborhood. Things have changed a bit, but it was still nice, flat, and pretty empty of traffic.

Though couldn't do the planned hill workout (no hills around here), I kept the effort up to a pretty solid level.

Sinus issues this morning, so I skipped the swim and got some extra sleep.

February 26

Run
  • 53m 31s
  • 7.00 miles
  • 07m 39s /Mi

Scheduled for a hilly run in all HR zones, elevating as run progresses. However, I'm in Houston, so hills aren't an options. Instead did 1mi WU/CD, then ran the golf course (5mi). Some very minor knolls, but no hills.
