I AM TOO X-TREME FOR MYSELF. Okay, let's be honest, PLENTY of triathletes do more, and faster, than I did today, but there's something you can't measure with those dry statistics. It was the ease, the panache, the elan with which I assaulted my workout. I could have done considerably more. It wasn't even having to stay focused, I just put my body on cruise and left it there for two hours, then woke up enough to get on a treadmill and bust out enough to end up with 40 total miles on the day. Will I be sore tomorrow? Possibly, but that's what the pool is for. It's my longest bike ever (yes, it's just a stationary bike...but until the wind calms down around here, biking outside is not an option), and getting that run in at the end helped fill me with confidence about the Olys I'll be going after this summer. The HIMs still look mighty intimidating, but workouts like this are how you build up for it, right?
By the way, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who reads what I put up here...I've been an awful BTer lately, what with work and all, and a lot of you give me a lot of encouragement and it helps me more than I let on. I'll be trying to get more active on here again (and lately, what I've set my mind to has happened, in a nice change of pace), and thanks for sticking with me in the lean times!

How's THAT for the team, speedball?!?
Run felt good until the last mile...right hammy got tight, but I pulled through. Oh, and I finished the rough draft for a proposal for work at 6:30 tonight...that could be worth up to $1.2 MILLION. I've been working on it for a while now...really exciting, but kinda nerve racking. While I've been adjusting this thing, I've been moving around amounts of money more than my annual salary making itty-bitty changes. Anyway, makes for one heck of an interesting job!!!
AND I got an hour-long run in...next time, bring your kryptonite.

I was planning on running after work, but work went late, and then there was the monthly poker game...quite annoying. I'll get it tomorrow.

Had a hard workout this morning, because I had a massage this afternoon. As luck would have it, I found a respectable place, and got a very good, thorough massage. I am currently drinking enough water to drown myself if it doesn't leave quickly, so hopefully I won't be too sore tomorrow.

Just doing my thing again. Was trying to get a massage this afternoon, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow.
I overheard a guy in the locker room at the YMCA talking about the sermon he had heard on Sunday that was about the correlation of American natural disasters and America's attempts to make Israel give land to Palestine. I honestly could not believe I was hearing this (though with the sheer number of churches in this town, it only makes sense one of them would be insane). Though I guess I shouldn't be surprised. There was another group of people before that believed things like this.
Today, what is the excuse of people that believe God uses weather to show that we are wrong? Conscience and one's own soul isn't enough for Him to affect His change in the world? All three of the world's major religions take credit for what happens...or blame what happens on the others...or use it to attck someone's sin. All of them, major and minor, are in some way flawed...as are we all. I'll take religion with the same amount of salt that I take myself. I hope everyone else does, too.
And that other group of people that blamed weather on God? Pagans. At least they had the excuse that they couldn't know better.
