didn't swim long...looked like it was going to storm...so we packed up the kids and went home.
"Rested" yesterday... Maybe try a short OWS today? Just to see how cold the water is when I'm fully submerged in it. DONE!!! Water was warmer than I thought it would be. It was a bit choppy when I went in, but I did OK. Not great, but OK...not bad for my 1st OWS I guess.
I still have a bit of work to do on getting comfortable in open water however, will try to fit one OWS every week until my tri.
Also...need to drive to AA to pic up packet for race...so that I won't have to deal with it in the morning. DONE!!!

Oh well...my legs will be extra rested for 10K on Sunday I guess.June 1
trying to stay slow for this run...time is an est. forgot to turn garmin on until part way into the run.
We are taking the kids to the park and I'm going to run home from there. 
I LOST my cell phone...I can't find it anywhere...last time I remember using it was monday. I put a call in to Nextel, to see how many hoops I'll have to jump through to get a phone with the "insurance" that we have on it. I FOUND IT!!!!
Ahh....This is a nice way to start the month...break back down into the 150's again....AND it's supposed to be dry this afternoon so I can go do some training outside.

I finally Reg'd for Sunday's 10K...at least I got one training related thing done tonight. 
Mandatory meeting at lunch = no S/T today. I really hope it's nice when I get out of work so that I can at least get my ride in. More storms...no ride 
Hmm...according to my records here on BT...since last September(when I bought my current scale)...I have gained...
- 9.95 lbs total
- 5.6 lbs FAT
- 4.3 LEAN TISSUE (muscle)
Well at least some of it is muscle...hopefully I can blast off that 5.6lbs plus more with WW & tri-training
I signed up for weight watchers online yesterday. I lost my "baby" weight on WW. I got down to my pre-pregnant weight of 145 fairly easily. I need to get back down. I feel HORRIBLE this heavy...UGH!!

I waded about mid-thigh deep into the lake yesterday...it really didn't seem too bad.
I'm hoping that by next weekend I can get in my 1st OWS. I told my Hubby that he needs to come down to the park with me because I didn't want to be alone swimming. He thinks I'm being silly...but I'm sure he'll go anyway.

Well, I did get out this morning...but it was NOT a good run.
I wanted to get 6 miles in this morning but I didn't get out of the house in time. I had to be back at the house by 7:30 because my hubby was leaving to meet a friend of his to go MTBing. My plan was to leave the house at 6:30...I woke up at 6:30. So I jumped up, got dressed, drank some water and was headed out the door 6:40ish. Well then kids woke up and hubby was still asleep. So I go to wake him up and tell him he needs to get up so I can leave. So by then it's 6:55...ugh. The 6 miler isn't gonna happen at this point because I can't run it 35 mins...LOL Oh well...I went out anyway for whatever I could get.
I felt like I was running with a drag shute behind me...UGH....I pushed on...my right shin started screaming. WTH???...They haven't done that in a while. So I walked a little, stretched a little and tried again. Still felt like crap... D@mn it!!! Oh well...such is life...I think we all have crappy workouts at some point in our training.
Tomorrow is a swim...which always seems to help my legs when they're hurting. I have a ride planned too (weather permitting), so lots of non-running things to work out the kinks...LOL. I can't get hurt...I have my first 10K race in less than a week!!!
I think I might go down to one of the swim areas later and go wade around a bit...see just how cold the water is. I have seen people in the lake this weekend...but you know some people are just crazy like that.
I really want to get started on my OWS training though...and I don't have a wetsuit.

I'm off to take the kids to the Memorial Day Parade, meeting my M.I.L. The kids are really excited...

I finished my first 10K and it was FUN. Felt really good the whole time. When I crossed the finish line it was reading 1:01:48 (according to Jim) He was surprised to see me so soon. He thought he wouldn't see me for another 5-10mins.
Gorgeous course, lightly raining at the start, but it actually felt good. I'd like to do the Half Marathon next year
Waiting to see what my actual chip time was so I can post it and do a race report.Unfortunately, I don't have my splits because I hit the STOP button instead of lap at mile 2...Oops.I got to meet Lisa (lisazapato) finally...I was running late AGAIN...but we found each other. I had a great time talking to her. We ran together for the first couple of miles.
I was looking for her after the race too...but I didn't find her, it was a HUGE race.
My next race is the Triathlon....Yay!!! (and Eek!!!)
