3 Good Things
1) I just could not have followed my race plan much better than I did
2&3) It was great to meet so many new BTers. I am not even going to try to list them because I do not want to forget someone. It was nice to finally put a face with the people that I have developed seedy internet relationships with. :) Like Jeff(tri4funjeff). :) Of course, It is always great to see the Bters that I had previously met.

April 21

Swim
  • 15m
  • 750.00 meters
  • 02m /100 meters

OWS at race site. Was just a guess on distance and time. The water was pretty choppy with the increased winds this afternoon. It should be more calm tomorrow. I am glad I did it. It has been awhile since my last OWS and this way there should not be any surprises.

3 Good Things
1) Got to do an OWS at the race site
2) Got to meet some new BTers: Ashley(*):), John(jcagg90)
3) Got to watch BT buds race today. Especially Kenny(Ten9T6) who did his first Tri.

April 20

3 Good Things
1) Had the entire house to myself as the rest of the family is out of town
2) Got some good deals on purchases at my Nat. Meeting
3) Got treated to a steak dinner from one of my vendors

  • 07m 58s /Mi

Average 8 min/mile

3 Good Things
1) Stars Won!!
2) Had good visits with Chiro and Massage
3) Did exactly what I wanted to do on the run portion of my brick

April 18

Swim
  • 49m 24s
  • 2560.00 meters
  • 01m 55s /100 meters

Swam in the outdoor pool at LTF. Water temp was 66 degrees. My wetsuit hardly lets any water in. I just love swimming in it. I upped the CAD to 50 for this swim. My first 1500 meters was actually 13 secs slower than my swim with a CAD of 48. So I guess I will go with the CAD of 48 for the Playtri Oly. After the intitial 1500 meters, I practiced sighting for the rest of the swim. The wetsuit sure makes it easier to sight.

3 Good Things
1) Only had to work in the morning. We have a big Optometry Convention at the Gaylord Texan Wed-Sun.
2) Attended a practice management seminar at the convention. Got some new ideas on how to over charge. JUST KIDDING :)
3) Got my swim pace firmed up for the race on Sun.

April 17

3 Good Things
1) My office manager called in sick today. Everyone else picked up the slack and things ran smoothly.
2) I was helping Caly with her letters. She is making good progress learning and writing them.
3) Camille fell asleep without having to put her down multiple times.

April 16

Strength
  • 1h 00m

Full body workout with Gail

3 Good Things
1) I love reading the IMAZ race reports. There is nothing better to get you motivated to try an Ironman.
2) Took Caly with me to run errands.
3) I am using a retainer to straighten some of my lower teeth. They had been kind of stubborn, but they are starting to move.
