Just loosening up.
Helped with the transition setup this AM for tomorrow's tri. Fellow BTers who helped out Kyle (first time to meet him and his family), Linda, Geezer (and Geez's brother) and also a guy I swim with.
I know Cathy really appreciated your help and thank you for making me look so good!!
Plan on doing a little swimming and hot tub today.
May 18
Out to Heritage and back, 4 race loops, nice and easy.

The Heritage Tri Volunteer director is short on folks to help set up the Transition area Saturday AM. If you can make it they are starting at 8:30 and I'm sure they will appreciate your help. You might even be able to swim after they get set up. Should only take an hour.
Great run this morning. Started out with Laura and met the Geez. WU 24min with them, then turned around to do a faster pace. Bike ride tonite at Heritage.

850yds OWS
450 Master's
OWS with LindaKC and Amelia at Lake Olathe. No snakes!! Water was just a tad cool, but not bad once I started swimming. Looking out at the cement structure 1/4mi away was a little intimidating at first. Then you get out there and think, "Yeah, I did it!" About that time you're turning around and sighting where you came from think to yourself again..."I can't do this." But I had a couple of good looking ladies with me so I couldn't chicken out, unfortunately neither were my wife (she was at work). Was driving back from our OWS and stopped at PLC for the last half of Master's. Eric, the instructor, was swimming again; I like it when he swims, I feel bad for him just walking the deck telling me I'm not doing stuff correctly...but I know that's why he's there.
Going to have to take my bike into see the wrench. Got a little (hopefully) derailure problem and getting some chain rub. Need to figure out how to take care of my bike so when the LBS isn't right across the street I can do this myself.

Nothing too spectacular, just easy riding around Heritage.

Feeling better, calves are still very tight but loosening up. Yoga and swim yesterday I think really helped.
Good early AM run again. Met up with Linda and Grace near Indian Creek Trail. Grace is such a good dog to run with, she doesn't complain, rarely gets distracted, and keeps the conversation light!! I didn't hold the leash, but the Geez missed a great opportunity as Grace went the distance with us.
I'll be on the bike after work tonite.
I don't plan on tapering for this race, just making some adjustments and this week is a light week anyway. Yoga will add sport time.
Swim Thursday
Need to give bike a thorough cleaning and inspection tonite or tomorrow. Ride sweet bike again on Friday. Run in the AM.
Saturday, hopefully OWS. Sunday Race!!

Master's stroke work
A little too much, a little too soon might be my tag line this week. Knees are sore from either lack of yoga, too much bike, new running form or any combination of the three. My calves are really sore from the new running form, but that was to be expected. I'll be taking it easy today with just swimming and core work, probably have my calves pressed up to the hot tub jets for a 1/2hr before Master's. This is the first time I've been sore since starting training in Feb.
Finally cleaned off the deck last nite...did it during "24" commercial breaks, this show is was so addictive, now, I'm losing interest fast...good thing too cause I think there are only 1 or 2 episodes left!! I think there might only be 3-4 good programs left on TV, which is fine by me, gets me outdoors more. Oh, those programs would be Law & Order, Baseball Tonite, The Office and Seinfeld reruns.
May 14
I will be switching from the Dual to the Tri!!!
Ran to Geez's house, thought he'd be sleeping outside...not in his hammock when we arrived. Ran toward Linda, met her; Laura and I finished our loop with her. Ran on the front of my feet the entire run, started to feel the burn in my calves...5min after my calves are so sore...going to need lots of stretching throughout the day.
My knees felt awful and just wasn't feeling it today on the bike. Had intentions of doing at least 4 laps at Heritage, but after 2 I was done. Hopefully, yoga and swimming tomorrow will rejuvinate me.
