Hi everybody!!!! I'm back! Sorry I couldn't keep everyone updated from Montauk, I couldn't get internet in my room for some reason. Anyway, I will provide all the details later (RR) but what can I say? It was a fantasic weekend and a terrific race despite the horrible conditions (weather) during the bike. (more on this later). Had a few minor technical difficulties, but I was still VERY happy with my outcome on this race. People were so suprised I was tackling this for my 3rd race, it made me a little nervous ahead of time but the training came through and the last few miles of the race I knew I had the shot to break 7 hours and I pushed it hard to come in at 6:57:21! Never walked any portion on the half marathon (including the infamous murder hill). I will give full details later today, but thanks for all the inspires during the past few days! RR up later today!

Hi Peeps -typing from an internet cafe as I have no wireless in my room. Anyway -drove the bike and run course today -think it made me more nervous. More hills on the bike than expected and Monster hill not a steep as I expected but I'm sure I'll think differently tomorrow when I,m in hour 5 running it. So many tri peeps here -trying to find other BTers here but it's hard w/o having internet to connect. Anyway I'm signing off now -wish me luck! Oh and by the way it's freezing here so I may die from hypothermia as opposed to drowning on my swim tomorrow. Cheeers! :)

Slow and easy

Nice ride this morning -relaxing, beautiful morning! Hoping for weather just like this on race day -so far it's looking good -temp was update now for low at 45 high 63 -woohoo! Bruising from yesterday not as bad as I thought -should be healed by race day. Confirmed the rental car yesterday and printed out driving directions. Oh!....and I almost forgot, hubby has been made a job offer and is negotiating salary -if ll goes well he will start when we get back from Montauk! YEAH!

Question -does tapering cause clumsiness????Anybody??? In the last 48 hours I have managed to just completely beat and bruise myself to a pulp -WTF. First standing up to quickly in the women's room and smacking my head into a towel dispenser (big ol lump on the noggin) -this morning, just kicking out my little run and what!?! Airborne over a speed bump landing on my right thigh and hip sliding for a good 1-2 feet requiring the digging out of pebbles on my thigh. Bruised from knee to hip w/ road rash. Did I mention stubbing my toe on the metal corner of the bed ripping the toenail half off? I'm thinking I should just lock mysefl up in the house unitl race day or I may not get there in one peice -sheeeshhh! Hope everyone else is haveing a much better day!Frown

easy spin on the trainer

Well, bike never happened yesterday -too much busy w/ la familia. Today I had to be in White Plains at 8AM so no gym, and tonight they close early (Jewish holiday) so... I'm thinkin' I'm hittin the trainer when I get home for a quick spin. Trying to not to get too worked up about these last few workouts. Hubby is at day 2 of the "try it on for size job" has another interview Wed. think he'll be employed by the time we get back from Montauk -yipee! Very achy w/ taper -hopefully the trainer ride will help! :)
