This is my commute over to the swim stadium and back. Just an easy pace for this one. I'll be back on the road tonight for a 12ish mile ride. fun fun!!
Went out to the swim stadium again today...so great to swim in the beautiful sun!! :D This is how it went down...

I was definitely getting pretty tired towards the end but I did want to push myself today. Overall I think the workout went very well and I think that I'm ready for Sunday which feels really good. :D
Commute back home from Burbank to downtown. Overall it was a fun ride...there was this one long freaking hill on Los Feliz that was pretty killer but not too bad. Lots of long downhills on this ride too which was fun. I was supposed to get a total of 107 minutes on the bike today but I only got 89 minutes total on my commutes today. :( So, I'm gonna have to hop on the bike tomorrow a little bit to get the remaining 18 minutes. I think the girls were planning on biking the course up at UCLA a little to get used to it so maybe I'll do one or two laps up there. :)
Good morning y'all!!
so I'm about to head over to the pool to get in a nice long swim workout....good times. And I have a nice long bike ride across LA planned for this afternoon. It's the last day that i have with this car...have to give it back to my friend who has been letting me borrow it. :( So I'm going to drop it off in Burbank and then bike back to my place downtown. it's only about 10.5 or 11 miles so it won't be that bad of a ride...hopefully....never rode it so i don't know what the hills are like. Anywho...i'll check in with you kids laters!!!

OMG!!! Yeah...never eat Jack in the box right before you run....recipe for disaster...LOL. I gave it like three hours to digest but that didn't do too much good. First two miles were fine but after that...started to get a little tough. This is how the worout went tonight...
1 mile @ 6.0 mph
1 mile @ 7.0 mph
1 mile @ 6.0 mph
0.5 mile @ 7.5 mph
0.5 mile @ 6.5 mph
0.5 mile @ 6.0 mph
yeah....felt like I was going to die on that last half mile. LOL But I pushed it and make it through. Good times....never again!! Oreo cookie shae was amazing though...oh well. :D

Went down to the Olympic swim stadium next to USC today for my swim. This place is awesome!! This was my first time to swim in a meters pool too. They had 50 meter lanes but no lifeguards over there so I had to swim in the 25 meter lanes...which was fine. Water felt amazing and I was out in the sunshine...couldn't ask for more than that. :D I didn't have a pull bouy so I did mostly freestyle. Here's how it went...
Warm Up
2z50, 1x100
50--Breast
Ladder
50,100,150,400,400,150,100,50
Cool Down

My stroke actually felt good today. The race this weekend is a 400 meter swim so I thought that it would be a good idea to do some 400 meter stretches just to see how hard I could push it and not kill myself. I think I averaged just under 10 minutes per 400 meter set.
This bike ride was the commute over to the pool and back home. I still need to get 64 minutes today on the bike so I think I'm going to bike over to the Target by Holly wood here in a bit and that trip should take care of the rest. :D
This was the commute over to Target in Hollywood and back. Man...just the crappiness of the road on Wilshire is just crazy. I hate riding on the sidewalk like everyone else does mainly cause pedestrians don't watch where they are going and have no courtesy whatsoever for cyclists. But...the road is so bad in places that I have to ride on the sidewalk or I fall in a hole or the ride is so bumpy that I might lose some bike parts by riding over it. Anywho...it was a fairly easy ride...didn't try to go all out but I tried to keep a steady pace...and not get hit by cars. Of course my chain has to come off at least once per trip cause my gears aren't tuned right yet. I'm getting there though. I'm getting better at shifting at the right times comfortably. I sure could go for some of those shifters that are on the brake levers. I'll have to convert soon when I have some extra cash.
Afternoon Update!!
What's up everyone?? Well, I got my swim done for the day and still have some biking to do. I went to a job interview this morning and have a second interview tomorrow afternoon...so keep your fingers crossed. :D Everyone have a great day and train hard!!
Evening Update!
yeah...pretty much done for the night. I just feel like relaxing and doing nothing. Tonight's ride was nice and easy....just the way I like it....so easy a caveman could do it!!! LOL

Just some casual riding up and down the bike path on the beach. I didn't really keep track of the time...just kept it kind of casual today. Had to scope out the run...and maybe a little bit of eye candy, ;) hahaha. It was such a beautiful day out on the beach today....and I think it's supposed to be like that the rest of the week too. YAY!! Only perk of being unemployed at the moment is being able to head out there and kick it in the sun. :D
Ended up going to the Santa Monica beach to do my run. Great run. Got some mean blisters on my feet but those should be fine in a couple of days hopefully. LOL.

My friends

Processing your request, please wait...
Definitely did better on the bie than I expected...and i definitely did better than when i practiced the course...happy with this time for sure. The overall winner did the bike leg in 37:50...so, i have some work to do to shave off almost 20 minutes. LOL
Good steady pace...especially after that bike ride. The overall winner's time was 15:14 so....i mean i could have gone harder than i did but...that guy was a machine. haha...one of these days...i'll get there.
This was my warm up swim before the race started. Just went kind of easy to loosen up my shoulders and get warm.
This was the time that they had posted for me for the swim...but this time included my T1 transition time which was at least 3 minutes if not more. So, I'm happy.
Race went really great today!! I don't have all of the specific info about each leg of the race cause I didn't keep track. I'm not sure if they're going to post that info online or not....oh well. My goal was to keep it under 2 hours and I ended up with a final time of 1:32:47. Not too shabby for a first race. I was 25th in my age group (not sure how many were in my age group) and 155 overall (not sure how man overall either). I had a great time and it was really cool getting to cheer on my fellow BTers. :D I've posted my race report which has a lot more info about my race. Great job everyone who did it and I can't wait to read your reports. YAY!!
