Fun bike with with group along the shoreline. Very pretty! Nice/easy relaxing ride.
Afterwards, went out for pizza with the group, and it was just fun. I had a good time.
More riding!!! This was fun - as I get familiar with this route it just gets more fun. I am finding that I totally like to ride my bike!!!

it is totally mcnasty outside. i think today is a gym day. and my tummy feels HUUUUGE. i think because i ate about 50 lbs of food yesterday. healthy food, but 50lbs nonetheless. haha :).
yesterday's dinner: white rice mixed with some brown rice, ground turkey + corn, ground turkey + green bell peppers + potatoes, all chinese style. super yummy.
today's lunch: spinach, feta, walnuts, craisins, and my very own mustard vinaigrette. yummy. plus pasta shells and a homemade tomato mushroom sauce.
don't tell me that doesn't sound good. no wonder i am eating like a mofo :).

run today, and maybe a swim to make up for yesterday. i feel MUCH better than yesterday, definitely a lot more kick. usually whenever i have "symptoms" of the female sort they come on the first day, and that's it. so hopefully - that's IT.
tomorrow long bike ride - and i'm thinking of racing a 5K just for fun on sunday. not sure :). but fun fun fun!

i think my physical tiredness stems from problems of the female monthly variety. i have felt like poo all day, tired, achy, and just generally like poo. and i feel like i have been eating all day too, and just now for dinner i ate like, so much food, probably 225% of what Tom ate. and i dont' even feel full, i could totally just keep eating. this is weird, i dont' normally feel like this every month, but maybe this is just an off month. hopefully i'll feel more peppy tomorrow.

Instead of coming all the way home, I rode straight to the gym for a swim, threw my bike in the car (Tom drove to go to the gym).
This was a nice ride, my new cranks felt AWESOME!!!! they're carbon so they were soooo responsive. i pretty much rode all the way in the big 50-tooth ring, except for a short part of the first hill.
When I shifted to the small ring - my chain FELL OFF!! I am seriously having chain problems. I just clipped out, popped it back on, and got back on my bike.
Then about 10 or 11 miles in, something happened adn my chain started rubbing FO SHEEZY. I think maybe my front derailleur wasn't tight enough and I hit a bump and if shifted...it was no longer aligned. so I pulled off and realigned the FD.
So, a fairly eventful ride, but I did it faster than I ever have, and it felt really quite easy. woo!
I think because I basically went STRAIGHT from the bike to the swim, I was a bit tired. Sicne the ride was occasionally tense, my arms were pretty tense, so when I hopped in the pool, I had NOOOOOO kick. This was basically the more horrible swim ever, I felt like I was thrashing like CRAZY!!!
Too bad, I was excited about it because of my epiphany last time, but I wasn't able to capitalize, I just felt like shite, so mostly I just did drills and tried to stay smooth. I cut it at 20 minutes because I wasn't accomplishing anything. I was basically just swimming as long as I wanted, nothing structured.

I got 2 new swimsuits today from Tyr - a hottie sporty bikini, and a durafast polyester new suit, wooo! i was excited about that. i think, for a while, i'm going to stop buying tri stuff. i've spent too much money on it lately!!

for serious - my ass muscles are still totally sore!!! am i that pathetic, running up a hill 5x will make me feel it this long? they are seriously sore!!! sad.

well, so some workout today, eh? i had planned to bag the swim and to it tomorrow - i wasn't feeling a two-fer. also, i see the pollen counts for today are high and i'm working hard and not sure i'm goign to be done with what i want to do before it gets dark. so i plan on a trainer ride, get dolled up and on my bike and everything.
ride for a few minutes, maybe like, 2 minutes, and something funny keeps happening with my chain, like, it just feels like it falls off for a moment, then catches again. so, i ask tom to come in and look at it while i ride, and it keeps doing it.
eventually, the chain completely BREAKS and we are in trouble! i'm so glad i was on the trainer so i could stay stable and clip out instead of on the road! i guess we've made so many changes to the bike, something wasn't quiiite right and it couldn't last. so...i get off the bike and tom's like, "well, your'e not riding tonight." we go to work to fix it, and my hands get disgustingly dirty and black. but all i was good for was taking off the broken link, finding a spare link, and putting it on. he is doing the rest. anyway, so now it's 10:30 and the gym closes at 11, so no swim, plus i'm starving anyway because i haven't eaten dinner yet and we have to eat. so, that's that. big fat ZERO today.

weird scale contrasts from today to yesterday.
yesterday, weight dropped to below 130 - an uncommon occurrence (but bf% was normal). today, bf dropped to 24.9%, i have NEVER seen a sub-25 before (but weight was normal).
oh yeah - my gluteus maximus is fo sheezy sore today, from the hills yesterday. woot!

it occurred to me to try tom's wetsuit. and i sort of fit it - the legs are too long, and it's not a great fit, but since it's 2 pieces it definitely allows for a lot of error. it's good to know i can wear it if i need to.
but i feel so fat! i look like a sausage in my 6' husband's wetsuit. it's nice and tight in some places, but too long in others. this just tells me that husband is really tall and skinny and i am so not tall and skinny. sigh.

WETSUIT? I just asked tri ridgefield admin today what water temps will be like. he
said ~68. i don't have a wetsuit. i know i won't die, but....i'm not sure if that's really bad, or just, "man up" temps.
i looked back in my logs and i have swum before in a pool at 74 degrees for over 2K yards without a problem. that's my only point of reference. i guess, since i don't have a wetsuit, all i can do is man up and do it anyway. no choice! just have to mentally prepare i suppose.

HUGE pr for me today sub-26:30 in a 5K. i don't have an exact time because I ran without a watch, i dont' trust their timing, and some other thigns, but my best estimate is 26:27/28. woooot for me!
