another Saturday, another windy ride. Today, however, I did get some tailwind. But did the last 5 miles into a headwind.
I'm having either a saddle issue or a shorts issue. I becomes apparent after 30 miles. I've got one more long ride next Saturday to try to sort it out.

in a cold rain
I ran today without ever looking at my watch (since it was up inside my raincoat sleeve). I guess you might say this is my "native" pace. It felt pretty good.

My son, the 16yo who says that running just to run is pointless and will only run as required for lacrosse, is dismissing my daughter's achievement on Saturday. He claims that he can run a 7 minute mile. I must say, I'm feeling the need to take him down a notch or two. I'm thinking I need to haul his lazy @ss to the track and run a mile with him, matching his pace for 3 laps and then hopefully dusting him in the last lap. Should I do it?

Wow, my pace was just insane! I've never run that fast over this distance. A PB for sure!
I looked down at my watch about half way into the first mile and it showed a sub 8min pace; I couldn't believe it, but my legs kept it going. I kept wondering when the wheels would fall off. I guess it started in the third mile. The last, ALL UPHILL mile was just about trying to bring it home. That was hard!
