Huh. Half-marathon tomorrow. How did THAT happen?
March 4

HR too high, but felt good to get out, as usual.
Life is such a darn roller coaster - any little hope that gets dashed feels like another kick to the gut. I choose to hope....mostly.
OTOH, how cool is it that I'm baking colonial foods with one daughter for school tomorrow while another one is reciting The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere.

PR!!!! Wow, fun but very hard run. I don't think I've ever worked that hard for that long. Last year during IM training was 2:08, but I was thinking 2:06 all day... I had padding I didn't know about!
Ran with my Boston Qualifier friend - she said she was trying for 9:50-10:00 miles...sounded great to me. You'll notice the average...didn't stick to her plan too well. At 10 miles, I saw that if I sped up a little I might be able to beat my previous PR from last year... That last 3 miles was TOUGH!
My HR went into Z3 just before 4 miles, then crossed over into Z4 just after 10 miles when I sped up and stayed there until the end of the race. Whew!
The weather was beautiful - sunny but windy. I was glad the wind wasn't as bad as the last two years, and was a tailwind all the way back. What's not to like?
