Great for its time. Time has passed with continuing upgrading of features and models by Garmin

Has been a reliable GPS watch for years, but the battery life has degraded significantly. Overall it has been a great watch.

I just bought a cheap timex to replace it. I am not a triathlete that can afford a new watch every 18 months.

Not worth it, get a low profile run watch, garmin swim, and garmin edge for less money, get all the functionality.

for the price and feature set this is amazing piece of kit. The techie snobs will always upgrade to the next gen but paying 600+ bucks just to capture swim data is not worth it. I am excited to use this each time I turn it on and will only consider changing it if it ever breaks or I lose it. And then I'll likely get the same model again unless the 900 drops to the same price.

I am very pleased with this watch, the price I got it for, and I would recommend it to someone wanting a cheaper GPS watch but didn't want to spend $200+.

I just ordered a second 305 for my son. The price difference between the 305, and new devices from Garmin just don't justify the latest and greatest.

overall a good product and deal for the money. when used with bike mount its perfect on the bike, and the velcro strap for the arm works well too. HR monitor is great and so is the cadence monitor.

Awesome training tool. Definitely the budget friendly way to get GPS + HRM in one. I wrestled between the 305 and the 310xt for a while and came to the conclusion the the 305 offers the same main functions for 1/3 of the price. If you dont need the watch in the water then I would highly recommend picking up the 305.

I can't say enough about my Garmin. Even when I found myself relying on it too much for training feedback (instead of my body's biofeedback), its versatility allowed me to remove the "pace" field from the display so I just have "Heart Rate" and "Distance". I love the ability to review your training and race info.

I use it for all my running and cycling workouts and even for my Olympic and Half Ironman races. I wish you could swim with it, they say its waterproof but not recommended for swimming, I don't. But hey it's your money.

My wife bought it for me and it is still the single best purchase I have made outside of my bike. It has really helped me get the most out of my workouts. I feel lost without it, even if I don't look at it 1/2 the time during a workout. Love my Garmin!

gps takes a lot longer to dial in than 405. also, ANT+ is much better. disappointed that it didn't last longer. told Garmin would refurb. for 90.00

the available info while running (pace, actual dist and even HR) are all I need for my training,
Comes with a very handy multisport setting - I did a triathlon where a friend held the unit while I swam, and she handed to me as I came out of the watr. The lap button will give you T laps as well as recognize your next sport.

UPDATE: 6 months into using it - NO regrets! this is the best tool I could have invested my money into. Yes, the 310 has longer life battery and better waterproofability but this is still a very good piece of equipment for half the price.

Great product, since I have purchased mine, two of my friends have also received the same unit. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good GPS/heart monitor watch.
