Total Time = 1h 44m 18s
Overall Rank = 142/250
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 6/10
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4am and didn't really go back to sleep. Got to the lake at about 5:40am.
Event warmup:

Mostly just talking and trying to ignore my nerves. I was SO glad lisa, megan, and others were there to keep me distracted and give some encouragement!
*should have warmed up and stretched- totally regret not doing this!
Swim
  • 15m 49s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 56s / 100 yards
Comments:

Decent swim, i could feel my right arm doing more work than the left arm. I also got off course the first 300M and had to get back on track. My right goggle wouldn't stop filling with water and at one point i put my feet down so i could re-group.
What would you do differently?:

not skip my long swims during training- i could feel my endurance suffer during last 300 yards.
Transition 1
  • 01m 25s
Comments:

Good for never practicing this before.
What would you do differently?:

practice.
Bike
  • 54m 7s
  • 15.5 miles
  • 17.19 mile/hr
Comments:

I got in aero a few times, but wasn't very comfortable with the position since I lacked very much practice riding in aero.
What would you do differently?:

practice more: aero, riding w/o socks, hills.
Transition 2
  • 00m 38s
Comments:

2nd in my A/G for this. Felt good about T2 since i had never practiced it before.
What would you do differently?:

nothing?
Run
  • 32m 17s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

WOW! this was a TERRIBLE run. My legs were like jell-o and i couldn't shake shin splints the first 1.5 miles. I did a run/walk combo the first mile- it sucked. I know I can run faster and am not very happy with this aspect of the race. I had to pee REALLY bad about half way into the bike and this impacted my low run performance.
What would you do differently?:

Stop and stretch- don't try to run through shin splints again. Practice brick bike/run. This portion of the race really hurt my time.
Post race
Warm down:

Talking & standing around.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My lack of training about 3 weeks before the race. I could feel a lack of endurance and my muscles kept cramping throghout the race. I should have warmed up rather than freaking out and letting my nerves get the best of me.

Event comments:

I can't wait for next year, i plan to kick this things butt!
