Pre-race routine:

My wife had to get up at 4:30, so I got up with her, drove to the race, and slept in my car (in a great parking spot) until about an hour before the race. Then I ran up to the pavilion and checked out all the sights.

Chatted with Tracie Kent as we tried to stay warm by the porta-potties.

30:50 first 5 miles
31:29 last 5 miles

Start off in 3rd, overtook 2nd and ran there from mile 3.8 - 9.5 before being passed by him again to move back into 3rd. Rough, but fun.
What would you do differently?:

Well, I tried to go out HARD, which I'm not used to (I did the first 5 of the TC 10 Mile in 32:09, and the first 5 of this race was in 30:50). I tried to hold on to that pace, but with the strong wind from miles 6-9 and some nasty rolling hills, I couldn't maintain. But I'd like to try this race strategy again.

Warm down:

Ran trails with Sarah at the "Surf the Murph" 50K trail run. Ran 6 miles with her.
