Pre-race routine:

This was my first Triathlon outside Portugal. Too bad I was injuried, because it was perfect to break my PR, anyway it was fun
Swim
  • 19m 31s
  • 900 meters
  • 02m 10s / 100 meters
Comments:

I was afraid that the water was too cold, however that wasn't a problem. It looked a bit brown, but I'm still alive so maybe it means the water was good
Transition 1
  • 05m 34s
Bike
  • 1h 32m 58s
  • 40 kms
  • 25.82 km/hr
Comments:

I haven't done the cycling leg with my road bike. I only decided to participate on the race 2 days before when I felt a bit better from my injury and thought I could do it. Thus a friend borrowed me an old and heavy and this explains how bad my time was. Also, during the bike leg I had some pain on my right arm due to the vibration of the bike. It was really really hard to complete those 40Km
Transition 2
  • 09m 44s
Comments:

It was raining during the cycling leg and it was also cold for me. When I arrived to the transition area I could'nt feel my feet and I couldn't run properly. I spent a lot of time trying to warm-up my feet and someone brought me some warm water and made me a massage on my foot. Only after that I was able to run.
Run
  • 49m 36s
  • 10 kms
  • 04m 58s  min/km
Comments:

The first two Kms were really difficult because my feet were still a bit "out of order", but after that I recovered and gained my usual pace
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

My injury, the rain and the cold weather

Event comments:

It was the first time I was on a race with so many athletes and public. It was really great to see the public supporting the athletes. They said that in total there was 260 thousand persons watching the races (both sprint and olympic distances)

Course: On the Alster Lake. It was supposed to be 1500m, however that day the organization changed the distance to 900m (don't know why) and they made the warning in german so I only knew that the course was different when I was already swimming and saw the swimmers in front of turning to other buoy and I followed them.
