Swim
Comments: Overall Excellent swim. Came out with coach Mat Luebers. Felt relaxed on way back and got into a swimming grove. Goggles were fine and suit was great. I started off to the left of the group and swam directly for the 1st buoy which worked very well. What would you do differently?: Swim in the open water more frequently before the triathlon. Didn't swim in open water at all since last tri. Transition 1
Comments: No problems with getting wetsuit off. I sit down which seems to help and save my legs. I put on my socks and shoes, then glasses and helmet and take the bike to the street. The jog from the beach to T1 was ok with my crocs but it's an uphill jog which is not fun, hence the longer time. Left wetsuit out on transition towel- no problem. What would you do differently?: Nothing but practice keeping shoes in bike and getting in to shoes that way. Bike
Comments: Believe next time I should keep the gel in with plain water and not Aquarius. I had a severe cramp in my right side when I came off the bike and started the run- maybe too much sugar. USED 7 RUBBER BANDS to keep track of laps. Did one lap and then took off a rubber band until all 7 came off and I knew I had one last lap to do. What would you do differently?: Keep your eyes open and ahead and continue to shout what side you're coming up on. Expect the other cyclists to not listen to you or do just the opposite. Next time just move the rubber bands from one aero bar to the other instead of dropping them. [Jenny's suggestion] Transition 2
Comments: No problems with helmet off and running shoes on. Felt very quick. Considered running with hat but decided against it. If it's hot out next time go with the hat. What would you do differently?: Practice getting out of cycling shoes more often just before transition area. Run
Comments: Too much Aquarius on cycle and not enough water. Drank just the right amount during the run--Sips only. What would you do differently?: Run was done as well as I could. Train better next time and drink one cycling bottle of Water + Gel and one bottle of Aquarius. Post race
Warm down: Jogged back along course and stretched some. Used Tiger Balm at home after shower. Next time try ICING your quads. What limited your ability to perform faster: The cramp on the entire run. Last updated: 2011-04-03 12:00 AM

Staged bike early and gear. Went to bathroom 3-4 times, drank lots of water. Got into wetsuit bottom with 30 mins to go. With 15 mins to go at the beach put on full wetsuit. Went out in water for very short swim just to ensure goggles were good and feel temp of water--Good move.
Stretched. Did not cycle or run. Next time might do very short jog just to wake up legs.
