Swim
Comments: Okay - so never let them decide you should be first just because you know how to do a flip turn.... anyway, blew myself up in the forst 50-100M and spent the next 200 getting back into my rhythm. last 200 were okay. What would you do differently?: Be last! Swim behind the others instead of tying to keep ahead of them. Transition 1
Comments: This was okay. an easy transition. but I wish I hadn't had to wait for cars before I crossed the street. all in all not bad. Bike
Comments: YUCK. okay so the bike wasn't that bad, but I did spend the first 10 minutes thinking I was goiung to have to stop the bike and puke. Not fun. when that finally passed I was actually doing pretty well. decent speed for me, but not great. Not too tired, should have had more to drink. Also, the stupid tire pump wiggled around and ended up rubbing against my tire and I had to slow waaaay down to try and grab it and move it. Transition 2
Comments: D@mn near fell off my bike trying to jump off. I should have stopped and taken it slowly. I have a really really lovely bruise on my leg from the top tube, as well as one in the middle of my butt from where I smashed into the nose of my saddle. Then when I did get my bike back where it belonged, I left for the run still wearing the shoes I used for the bike.....sopping wet with no socks. realized it and yelled "Oh, Sh!t", made everone look at me and turned around and went back. I did take a swig of gatorade, this time. Run
Comments: Walked. most of it. At the end there was a couple I was going to try and jog with. but they jogged slower than I do, and faster than I walk. figures! Had a gel at the turnaround. That was a good Idea. I was still feeling pretty good, at then end. and Miracle of miracles! No Shin Splints!!! What would you do differently?: Run more. I was lazy! Post race
Warm down: Um. had a water. wanderes around picked up aftermyself and my Transition. Clapped for the one person who finished after I did. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enuf time spent training for the run, and starting the swim too fast. Event comments: This was fun.
