Age Group Rank = 12/46
Pre-race routine:

Pumped tires, ate a Peanut butter sammy and tried to lube my chain in the rain.
Event warmup:

None.
Swim
  • 07m 22s
  • 400 meters
  • 01m 50s / 100 meters
Comments:

Pool swim. I got behind a few guys that were going a little faster than I had intended, but I just held on.
What would you do differently?:

Not a thing. Felt great.
Transition 1
  • 02m 53s
What would you do differently?:

Ran a little more. Lots of little rocks around to hurt the feet though. Everything was rain soaked and that added some time.
Bike
  • 28m 22s
  • 10 miles
  • 21.15 mile/hr
Comments:

Changed the course for this year. On and off of bike paths/road. Did not care for that too much. Also think that it was a mile shorter than last years. I really felt fast and passed a ton of people. The only people that passed me were 3 of them. All on pretty high end carbon bikes. Did not feel too bad.
What would you do differently?:

Hammer more. I was ready to really push it the last mile and all of the sudden pulled into the school. Thought I had more left.
Transition 2
  • 01m 42s
Comments:

Did fine. did not ride with feet on shoes, too wet.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 26m 21s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

Best 5K I have ever run, even stand alones.
What would you do differently?:

I think that maybe could have strided out a little better. I felt so slow, but I was comfortable. The time reflects the hard work that I have done on the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and stretched some.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need better foot tunrover on the run.

Event comments:

I did not care for the new bike course, but the race is very well ran and organized. This is my 3rd time running it and took 5 min off of my best time last year. I will continue to come back.
