Age Group Rank = 4/4
Pre-race routine:

Got up, double checked everything, got to car, ate banana during drive up, got to crandon park, got set up
Event warmup:

stretched, made idle chit chat to loosen up my mind
Swim
  • 12m 6s
  • 437 yards
  • 02m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

the water was a little choppy, i managed to sync with the waves on my breathing
What would you do differently?:

train in the water more
Transition 1
  • 06m 14s
Comments:

i definitely need to work on my transition, i took my time to make sure i didn't forget anything, but i lost a lot of time doing that
What would you do differently?:

put my gloves on last
Bike
  • 53m 27s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 13.92 mile/hr
Comments:

i would have liked more time before having to go up the hill again
What would you do differently?:

find a way to train with hills
Transition 2
  • 01m 7s
Comments:

i did a good fast transition, though i got slipped up when i couldn't put my bike in the right spot and had to put it in another persons. i also forgot to put on my running shorts that had my gel in them, but i didn't need it during the run, so i probably won't use them for the run any more
What would you do differently?:

remember to take the extra gel out of my shorts, it fell out early in the course. and remember to open my gatorade before the race starts, second time i did that at a race
Run
  • 31m 50s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

the run was good, on solid ground, nice turns, very flat. for the last mile or so 1 guy and 1 were pacing off eachother, and that helped tremendously
What would you do differently?:

train a little more, and concentrate on the run
Post race
Warm down:

walk around, drink a bottle of gatorade, stretch a little

What limited your ability to perform faster:

training and heat

Event comments:

would have liked to see more booths and information from the sponsers
