Total Time = 1h 28m 4s
Overall Rank = 38/49
Age Group = 30-39
Age Group Rank = 11/13
Pre-race routine:

race started at 11, so I woke up at about 8:30, ate pancakes and bacon, drank some coffee... got dressed, drove to event... hung out, talked stretched, etc.
Event warmup:

no real warmup...
Swim
  • 08m 49s
  • 400 meters
  • 02m 12s / 100 meters
Comments:

I think the swim was longer than 400... it seemed 25 m long, and with 9 laps, that makes 450m total... but whatever.
What would you do differently?:

Try to get a little warm up in...
Transition 1
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

Struggled slightly with the run from the pool and then into shoes, shirt and onto the bike... but I wasn't wearing my tri suit so I wasn't quite prepared for the shirt... but I cut over 20 seconds off of the last time I did this race two years ago.
What would you do differently?:

Wear tri suit... or practice shirt donning...
Bike
  • 45m 25s
  • 11 miles
  • 14.53 mile/hr
Comments:

again bettered my time from two years ago... and was fairly happy with my avg speed over the course... but my weight and riding inexperience shows.
What would you do differently?:

ride more... lose weight.
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

Dropped 55 seconds off my time from two years ago... slipped up a little with tying the shoes...
What would you do differently?:

switch to some sort of elastic laces...
Run
  • 31m 17s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

This might be the best 5k at the end of a sprint I have ever done... maybe second best... I came down off of the hill that the high school was on... kept focused on keeping my legs moving at a decent cadence... only one water stop... with the sun the way it was, a second would have been nice.
What would you do differently?:

run faster.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around... stretched out.. drank water... ate some fruit and a sandwich.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

bike skills mainly... need to ride more to build a better base I suppose. more speed work too...

Event comments:

fairly well organized... small field. Now that it seems to have been moved to a Saturday, I will probably try to do it on a regular basis.
