Comments:

Arms were real tired. Breathing was Ok. There was a person in front of me who was not sighting very well and kept drifting into me. I think I just sould ahve held my line and let him run into me. Lesson learned. At one point I had to do the side stroke, but kept moving forward. I did better than the time I thought I'd be able to do and the times I performed in the pool. Overall I was satisfied, but I know I can do better. There was really no one to draft off of; everyone was pretty spread out. I might consider using a sleeveless wetsuit for the Mid-Summer the first weekend in August. Quite a long jog to T1 and then to the mounting line which explains the Transition Time.
What would you do differently?:

I need to swim more laps for longer distances and begin lifting weights and hold my line while swimming.
Transition 1
  • 03m 35s
Comments:

Felt good about the transition. Practiced the two nights before and it paid off.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really at T1.
Bike
  • 40m 37s
  • 12 miles
  • 17.73 mile/hr
Comments:

Would probably ride in a lower gear. Did this later, but made the change to far into the ride.
What would you do differently?:

Train in a lower gear. Need to build up my endurance, power and begin lifting weights.
Transition 2
  • 02m 24s
Comments:

Had a hard time locating the way into my rack. Went in the wrong entry for a short way until I realized my mistake. Added some time.
What would you do differently?:

Look at the entry points coming into transition as well as going out.
Run
  • 29m 20s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

Took me sometime to get into my stride. Finally felt better at about 1.5 mile point. Bike path was packed and it was hard to pass people.
What would you do differently?:

Need to build on my strength and being able to run faster longer. Want like to increase my pace. Work in more bricks into my workouts. For my first time I would consider this a good race for me as I was shooting for a 10 min. mile.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough experience, endurance, core strength

Event comments:

I thought I read, as did others, that the Tri-It's were suppose to all get medals. Thought wrong. Stayed after for the awards.
