Comments:

Tired legs this morning - rode the USAFA loop a little harder than I probably should have...This wasn't a focus race and I wanted to keep myself in check. I put out good effort and was happy with that. I was scared that I'd get chicked in the end so I dropped the hammer with 3/4 mile to go. I was 2-5 beats per minute above threshold for most of the race.
What would you do differently?:

I should have popped a gel during the mid point of the race or had a better pre-race meal by mile 6 I was gassed and I let a guy get by me.

Warm down:

A couple miles more just for training than warming down - I wanted to run on really tired legs

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training volume - lack of real rest day - nutrition

Event comments:

this is the weak sister of the triple crown. The Garden of Gods 10 miler was huge and the competition was excellent. This is a local race. Fun, organized, love the T-shirt (legit New Balance technical T-shirt), looking forward to the Ascent!!! I can't rate a race above average with out a little brewskie at the end. But depending on the schedule for next year, I'd do it again.

Course: Bear Creek state park to high drive and back 1 mile rolling hills 2 mile single track rolling hills 3 mile to turn around up high drive (1st half of high drive is steeper then the second) Turn around and fly on down!
