Event warmup:

No warm-up...water was freeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing! Nobody else was warming up...I just went with the flow.
Swim
  • 16m 59s
  • 1300 yards
  • 01m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim was tough! Really just wanted to finish without dying. I never really concentrated on picking it up. I was more worried about my leaky goggles and staying on course. Pace ended up being faster than I thought (downstream). Overall, I was semi-pleased. I just wanted to survuve and I did just that. It was definiately fun!
Transition 1
  • 02m 20s
Comments:

Fun...legs felt decent coming out of water. I was kinda dazed and confused but not too bad.
Bike
  • 36m 40s
  • 12.5 miles
  • 20.45 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt pretty good on the bike. Just tried to push it the entire time. Legs were a little weak and definiately wobbly when I stood up to cycle. I was definiately happy with being 20+ mph...that was my first ride at that speed. I think I could be good on the bike but I feel like the longer the distance the better. I clipped a giant caution sign during the ride...I almost slamming directly into it...I don't know how I didn't see it. I was sucking wind pretty hard at that point....that would have been hilarious. Me just slamming directly into it. Ha! I feel like I did alright considering I only started cycling about 1.5 months ago. I felt like I was hanging with some semi-serious guys. Fun!
Transition 2
  • 00m 57s
Comments:

Good transition. Not much too it...although I had to run farther than others since my rack was in the far corner.
Run
  • 19m 43s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

I was breathing super hard at the begininning of the run. Didn't really get into a rhythm...just tried to get through it. The run was almost boring after the excitment of the swim and bike. I didn't really push it hard at all. I'm a little surprised that I even ran as fast as I did. I felt like I was on a quick run. I didn't get passed at all on the bike and run which was cool. I just passed peeps the entire way.

Event comments:

Overall, I've been logging on BT for over three years now and I just now finished my first tri. It was awesome! I definiately feel like its something that I could get really good at if I just do the work. Who knows how good I could get. I think my best distance would be 70.3. I'm just glad that I really enjoyed it!
