Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:40 am. Had toast, banana and tea for breakfast. Road over to race location. Registration started at 6:10. When I arrived at 6:20, about 30% of race participants had already arrived. Ran into all my tri-training buddies. Ate some yoghurt my husband had brought me. Hung about til my start time at 8:05

Passing was hard when three people were riding abreast and chatting or when the 10 year (very family friendly event) was practicing riding no-handed and swerving all over the place making passing difficult.

This was my first tri ever. I took a training class offered by the park district. That was very helpful and I met some great people.
