Pre-race routine:

Arrived on site at 05:40. Picked up my packet and got marked. Quick bike function check, and then setup transition.
Swim
  • 17m 13s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 58s / 100 yards
Comments:

The swim felt like it was closer to 3/4 of a mile than 1/2 mile. Water was warm, and I began to overheat in my wetsuit. I felt like I didn't hit my groove until the last 200. Goggles were fogged up the entire time, making sighting difficult.
Transition 1
  • 02m 28s
Comments:

I took my time and caught my breath. As I was exiting, the guy in front of me slipped and wiped out. I caught his bike and held it for him until he got back up, but it cost me a few seconds.
What would you do differently?:

I forgot my body glide, so I had some issues getting the wetsuit off. The right ankle of my wetsuit got caught on my timing chip, which cost me a few seconds
Bike
  • 58m 35s
  • 19.5 miles
  • 19.97 mile/hr
Comments:

Against better judgment, I rode my new bike (I picked it up Friday evening, and got about 5 miles in on it Sat AM) ... As a result, my confidence in handling was low. At around mile 5, my saddle angle dropped, and I had to pull it back up about every half mile for the rest of the ride. Almost wrecked at the dismount, when I couldn't pull my left foot out of the shoe.
What would you do differently?:

I need to get a few more miles on the new bike before I'm really comfortable with it. Overall,
Transition 2
  • 01m 38s
Comments:

Fastest T2 so far. Had trouble finding my row initially.
Run
  • 29m 15s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

I think that I did something bad to my right calf during the dismount. I was in constant pain through the run.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I feel that I was not well prepared for this rate. I should have spent more time training before race day. The strained muscle in T2 definitely added a few minutes to my run. I was 9 minutes off of my goal time, so I have a good target for next year.

Event comments:

Piranha Sports seems to always do a good job. Bathroom facilities need to be re-evaluated though, as 2 commodes and 3 urinals is not enough for 600 guys.
