Pre-race routine:

Up at 5AM. Nutrigrain bar, diet coke and vitamin water for breakfast. Left hotel at 6AM for race. Broke my floor pump while airing tires in parking lot. Had to borrow pump from another athlete.

Swim was a disaster. Pseudo open water swim and I was all over the place. On top of people, left side of canal, right side, missing 90 degree turn. Very tense and never relaxed. Was nauseous/dizzy when I got out, possibly from not being able to see in water?

First Tri I completed. The 1st I attempted was cancelled before I finished because of athlete death. Last I will participate in this year. Lots of work to do over fall/winter. Will be back to this event next year.
