Comments: The second lap was better than the first. I worked too hard on the first. What would you do differently?: Better pacing. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Not bad considering my first time and that my right calf became enflamed at about 1/3 of the way through. Had to stop and stretch, then continue at a limp. The calf finally improved toward the end, but definitely was a large factor in the race. What would you do differently?: This, in spite of my sore calf, was probably my best leg of the race. If I can finally get past this problem, I think I can do well in this leg. Post race
Warm down: Barely stayed on my feet. What limited your ability to perform faster: Sore leg mostly, plus inexperience (first time triathlete). Need to improve my swimming and navigating. I could improve the bike leg with better equipment such as a faster bike and "clip less peddles" since I was just riding in my running shoes. Also need to improve transition times. Fairly good conditioning for the first time but I can improve that considerably for next time. Event comments: My first race so I have nothing to compare it to. Last updated: 2009-09-15 12:00 AM
