Run
Comments: I started out near the front and just tried to hold on going down the hills. I did a really good job going fast but staying under control. As soon as we crossed the 2 mile mark the course just went UP. It probably took me close to 10 minutes to finish the rest of the race. I could see people ahead of me taking walk breaks, so I knew even though I wasn't moving very fast, if I could just keep trucking I could reel some people in. The final part of the course was the worst, we went up an extremely steep walkway, then had to go up a ton of stairs. Most people were just walking by this point, which is saying a lot because these people finished top 10 overall. It took everything I had to keep runnin What would you do differently?: Not much, fun race on a very challenging course Post race
Warm down: Walked around and collected goodies. It was seriously like trick or treating there was so much stuff. Jamie and I even won some cool water bottles by answering some health trivia questions correctly. What limited your ability to perform faster: With my focus on the marathon I didn't really rest for this, otherwise I had a really good race. Event comments: I really enjoyed this race. The venue was beautiful, the course was challenging, and I had a great time. Finishing top 5 OA was pretty cool too. Jamie also had a great time, and finished 8th out of 500+ females, 3rd in her AG. Ate a bowl of cereal, then Jamie and I dressed as warm as possible and headed to Red Rocks
Just tried to stay warm!
