Total Time = 1h 57m 59s
Overall Rank = 807/1000
Age Group = Clydesdales
Age Group Rank = 79/96
Pre-race routine:

Got there early, got set up, and made a trip to the bathroom. For what ever reason I began to sweat about 1.5 hours ahead of the start time and sweat very heavy. Not sure if it was a nerve or metabolism issue but it was odd, and probably contributed to dehydration later in race.
Event warmup:

Was plenty warm - spent lots of time stretching calfs and foot.
Swim
  • 10m 27s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 05s / 100 meters
Comments:

Felt great in the water and faster than ever. Great PB here and felt really good. Got out of the water charged and in much better shape than last time.
What would you do differently?:

Learned to breath from both sides, practice sighting more.
Transition 1
  • 03m 16s
Comments:

Very slow in transition, almost shocked as well the swim went.
What would you do differently?:

Practice the transition
Bike
  • 58m 31s
  • 15 miles
  • 15.38 mile/hr
Comments:

Not very happy with the bike at all, not sure if it is an equipment problem or bad technique or just the weight. Very discouraged. Lost water bottle half way through the bike, ended up very dry at the transition
What would you do differently?:

Go faster, loose more weight, and train bike on the road more.
Transition 2
  • 03m 9s
Comments:

Couldnt find where to put my bike. Fairly dehydradeted at this point, really lost focus, almost giddy. Actually racked bike on the wrong rack.
What would you do differently?:

Everything
Run
  • 42m 34s
  • 5 kms
  • 08m 31s  min/km
Comments:

Done, dehydrated and out of fuel. Stride very short, breathing and HR ok. During some parts of the course the heat really got to me. During some times it was borderline nausea, but worked through it. Quads crampd at 2.5 miles but ran through it.
What would you do differently?:

Didnt train much in teh run the last few weeks because of foot injury, but overall made it through. Need to drop some pounds.
Post race
Warm down:

Not much, some walking and water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack fo training ahead of time because of injury and dehydration during bike that carried over to run

Event comments:

Cant wait until next year!
