Total Time = 1h 00m 13s
Overall Rank = 73/332
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 8/21
Pre-race routine:

Stayed in a hotel about 1 mile from the race site, got there about 7:30AM. Got setup ... cold and windy outside
Event warmup:

Did about a 1-mile run.
Swim
  • 06m 19s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

First 200 yards were great, then I ran into some congestion on the final laps. Wasn't able to pass, so had to really slow down.
Transition 1
  • 02m 49s
Comments:

Very long run to TA ... about 400 yards. It was still kind of cold so decided to put on a long-sleeve shirt ... big mistake. Took forever to get it on, and then it warmed up really quickly anyway. Next time, ditch the shirt.
What would you do differently?:

no shirt.
Bike
  • 27m 16s
  • 10 miles
  • 22.00 mile/hr
Comments:

First 2/3 of the bike had what a strong tailwind most of the time. I think I was averaging 23.5mph + over the first seven miles. Headwind over the last three miles or so (Wrightsville Ave.) really brought down the average. Past a ton of bikes, never got passed. Almost wiped out at one of the turns when someone cut in front of me ... had to slam on the brakes and went into a bit of a skid.
What would you do differently?:

Fast bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 6s
Comments:

Forgot my race number ... and had to turn around and go back just before leaving the transition area ... first time I have done that. Only lost a few seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Remember to put on the race number belt
Run
  • 22m 45s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

Good fast run for me. Didn't have my watch on so didn't get splits or HR data. I think that made me faster. Did quite a bit of passing, never got passed here either.
Post race
Warm down:

Water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. Felt like I gave it an honest effort. Pool swim madness slowed me down a bit, but I'm not a fast swimmer anyway.

Event comments:

Really enjoyed the race. Loved the bike course. Setup always does a great job with their events. Great early season event that I'll probably do again next year.
