Pre-race routine:

Got to the race early, and checked out the transition area. Set out my gear, bike etc.

Comments:

What a mess, people clearly with very different splits. Some much slower and some a little faster. Complete washing machine. I am pleased that I didn't let it upset me.
What would you do differently?:

Try to ensure I am seeded correctly.

Comments:

The bike is the unknown for me. Having never raced bikes at all. The course was up hill one way and down the next. Pleased with how it went. The transition was difficult as it was uphill. So, I had trouble jumping on the bike and getting the feet into the shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more on the transition aspect - particularly, if it's up hill.

I felt terrible and almost heaved. The course was up and down, down and then up.
What would you do differently?:

Drank too much on the bike leg, and I will only drink water in the future. Know the run course better, not knowing it for sure was a disadvantage.

People were very friendly and helpful. This was my first TRI and I felt most welcome.
