Swim
Comments: It was good to have worn the suit pre race via the OWS clinics by JSMultisport @ Island Heights. Positioned myself towards the right of the starting line and paused for a few seconds to let the front line swim first. By sheer luck was able to Draft for about 4 strokes then it was gone. What would you do differently?: Not be scared of the swim melee. Transition 1
Comments: I still haven't tried using body glide or any lubrication in conjuction with the wetsuit. So far the suit does come off with no issues except for my left wrist where the neoprene has to stretch a bit more for the watch. What would you do differently?: Practice transitions more and perhaps not fold the suit nicely on top of the transition towel. Bike
What would you do differently?: Get some saddle time on my twice ridden road bike. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Not worry about the stuff on top of the transition towel. I again had to make sure my wetsuit was ok. Run
Comments: Bricks at the gym (spin bike to treadmill) feels like its paying off plus the stretch performed on the bike nearing T2 helped. What would you do differently?: give the run some more effort Post race
Warm down: Bagel and banana and some water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Fear of bonking out Event comments: As somebody commented last year on their race report, I would have to agree on the pitiful shirt. Anyhow, it was a great race overall. Close to home and had lots of fun. Last updated: 2010-05-25 12:00 AM

My first outdoor triathlon (second after an indoor tri). Had Muscle milk and a blueberry Cliff Bar. Been nursing a cold for the past few days so I took a tablet of advil for suppression. Slept at 10:30pm saturday night but found myself awake 1:30am on sunday. Must have been race jitters so tossed and turned and probably went back to sleep around 3:00am. Fortunately I was only 6 miles away from the race site so was able to afford to get up at 6:00am.
Made sure my transition area didn't invade my fellow neighbors area. Was supposed to do a light run/stretch but ended up giving priority to ensure I visited the port-a-potty. Saw my cousin's college friend who volunteered on the event and ended up chatting a bit instead. However, I made sure not to miss the opportunity to dip in the water, soaked my face, exhaled and just wade (thank you BT for the tips).
