Comments:

Good swim, fun and no pain
Passed about 10 people in 300 yards, passed the girl in front of me in 25 meters, and she started 10 sec before me...
What would you do differently?:

tell a different time to swim with less passing..
Transition 1
  • 02m 6s
Comments:

T1 I wanted to be right around 2 min's... I was a little over...nerves and making sure all is good with bike, shoes/socks seem to be a pain, then there was the 1 contact in, and i am pretty blind..
What would you do differently?:

no socks on bike from now on....should help, don't sit down...goggles/cap down, helmet on, shoes on, and trot to debark line.
Bike
  • 33m 30s
  • 12 miles
  • 21.49 mile/hr
Comments:

Not a bad ride for a 1 eyed thang.....picked up pace from CB&I and that was the goal, pushed it harder when i could, tried to avoid drafting.
What would you do differently?:

new lighter bike, and better gearing...work harder at biking..
Transition 2
  • 02m 14s
Comments:

I thought i did better in t2, but was starting to cramp in calves, the run was going to hurt..with some walking right off the bat..
What would you do differently?:

take more potassium before race day,
Run
  • 28m 48s
  • 3 miles
  • 09m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

started to heat up..walked a 1/8 of mile to start due to cramping, then alternately walked and ran, finishing strong..sweating like crazy, Humid on south side of houston...
What would you do differently?:

work on building endurance and stamina to run the whole race.. Michael Merlino of "in flight running" recommended I start doing hill training and sprints (quarter mile sprint, recover, sprint...)
Post race
Warm down:

walked, took in fluids,

What limited your ability to perform faster:

getting in better shape...

Event comments:

Would have been nice to have a cold beer and some music..and a massage afterwards, but this is fundraiser from YMCA.. so I understand..

Overall very positive and will do again next year.
