Pre-race routine:

slept in lousy hotel, no alarm clock, so nervous i was going to sleep in. read a little in the car, kept me calm. had high protien supper night before, probably should have gone for carbs.

long run to pool, should have left shoes on. ground very hard on feet. was also unclear what i should do, just jump in or what. then when i got out i had to go through a gate and there was no one directing me to do so. fotunately i saw the mats, but it would have been easy to never cross the finish line
What would you do differently?:

need to improve me turn arounds in the lanes and when switching to a new lane. i basically stop, duck under then get my footing and start. need to work on that.

transition times were rolled into swim and bike times.
What would you do differently?:

keep shoes on for run to water. also, when i got of the bike my left hand was totally numb (from cold or pressure, i don't know) and i could not get my helmet or clothes off. i kind of paniced and was just fumbling.

decided during race i need to make my bike more race friendly and change angle of my handlebars. also need to force myself to drink, even when i do not feel that i need to

What would you do differently?:

went smooth except i had not unsnapped the straps on my helmet nor made sure they were adjusted. need to do that before the race!

ran my bike in and out, got on it quite well.

thought I was doing well. the pack left me behind, but i was happy with the rhythm I was keeping, thought I was managing about 9 min/mile at start and then after halfway mark kicked it up and started passing a couple people. but i guess i was going much slower then i thought
What would you do differently?:

maybe i should start wearing my watch and checking my times. also, i need to push myself harder, not just coast through the race.

Felt there could have been more direction. And based on the ease of the course, I should have been able to perform much better.

was a 4 mile loop we did 3 times. very flat and staight. thought i was biking well. was cycling fast with little or no breaks. at about 2/4, 2/5, 2/6. but just felt like i was going slow as everyone passed me.
