Pre-race routine:

Ate part of a peanut butter sandwich before I left the house and drank some gatorade. Arrived at the site, picked up the goodies, went back to the card 'til about 10 ins prior to start. It was cold and windy. I'd estimate it was upper 30s to lower 40s and at points on the course there was at least a 20mph wind, but possibly as high as 25 or 30.

Comments:

Didn't expect, or get a PR on this course. The couse is NOT set up for that and it was cold and windy. Did I mention that already?
What would you do differently?:

Run some hills, but I knew that going into the race.

Warm down:

Light stretching hot cocoa.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Overall, I thougt I did fine. However, the lack of hill training didn't help and the cold and wind wasn't great.

Event comments:

This was a small, but very well run local race. If you're in Abilene the weekend this run is put on, I recommend it.
