Stretched, short run, set-up transition area. Tried for a "Rain Dance" but didn't happen

Came off the start too strong and lost energy after about 75 meters.

Gotta learn how to swim better!!

Not bad. I was hoping for better, but it was a learning experience.
What would you do differently?:

Learn to swim so that I don't have to ef with the wetsuit in transition. Get shoes that I can wear without socks to eliminate that step.

I wish I could have done better. My legs didn't open-up until abut the 2.5 mile mark.

Warm down:

walked around, caught my breath, drank honey milk and a snow cone.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

poor swimming. It had a horrible effect on everything else.

Event comments:

Awesome event for a first-timer. Very well organized, very friendly staff and competitors. I plan on participating again!!
