Went out at a very steady pace and held my heart rate. Hooked up with another runner after a mile and we kept each other company for the rest of the run. Felt great at the end and was ready to ride.

My transitions always seem slow but methodical - is that a good thing! I know that I could save some time here but I feel comfortable with the pace and the fact that I do not miss anything.

This was the worst part of the race for me. I was too conservative and should have been faster - I consistently train around 19 mph. It was disappointing to be under 18 mph, especially as I felt I had plenty in the tank for the last run.
