Pre-race routine:

It was about an hour drive from Concord where we were staying. Left at 04:30ish and got to the site at 05:30. Some of my peeps were going on about having to get to the race site at 4am or you wouldn't get into the park. Well we got into the park no problem. So I was excited, knowing that I could still get stuff out of the car if need be...I didn't need the morning clothes bag or extra stuff for after the race.
Got into transition, made sure Princess survived the night outside :) set up, made sure my bike computer worked, checked out transition thoroughly
Event warmup:

None! The port a potty lines were astronomical so I spent a half hour there. Met some nice people and someone I know from Ottawa...surprise surprise!
Same peeps that were scaring me about parking also said the swim start was really far away from transition so be prepared. It wasn't of course. Silly people exaggerating
Swim
  • 38m 28s
  • 1931 meters
  • 01m 59s / 100 meters
Comments:

What a gorgeous swim. Beautiful scenery, flat, tons of space. I didn't touch anyone! When does that ever happen??
Transition 1
  • 05m 24s
Comments:

I HAVE to put on sunscreen so that is where the futzing around was. There was also a fairly long way out as I was right smack in the middle of a 2000 people transition area
What would you do differently?:

Check my bike computer but it would have been difficult
Bike
  • 2h 56m 47s
  • 90.12 kms
  • 30.59 km/hr
Comments:

Of COURSE my bike computer didn't work. I asked a few people where we were at and they told me in miles which didn't help me any :) :)LOL
What would you do differently?:

Find a bike computer someday that is not a POS
Transition 2
  • 05m 42s
Comments:

More sunscreen on. I can't drink Gatorade so I had to futz with a Fuel belt too.
Run
  • 1h 51m 13s
  • 21.08 kms
  • 05m 17s  min/km
Comments:

Loved the run! Felt good, wasn't too hot, enjoyed the crazy things the spectators and water station folks were doing. TONS of aid stations...more than I ever have seen
What would you do differently?:

Didn't realize I was trashing my toenails so maybe wouldn't have dumped water over my head
Post race
Warm down:

Chrissie Wellington gave me my medal!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing! I was expecting to be 6 hours

Event comments:

I was told that Timberman was an amazing race and everyone was RIGHT. Highly recommended!
