Comments:

Was really happy with my swim, as it usually takes me 1 hour to swim 2km. As I had people pass me I tried to draft of someone then lose them and start again. People were not too bad either, like swimming over you or hitting you. Did cramp at the end of the swim in the left calf which was painful for the rest of the race

I was happy, so there would be nothing I would do differently

I didn't pedal harder due to cramping in the swim and I wanted to last the race. I had a bit of nauseousness on the bike but overcome quite easily.

I ran about the first 6km then had to walk, I have a possible stress fracture in my left foot which I had done a couple of weeks ago after a long run. So was in a bit of pain on the run, kept pouring cold water over foot to stop swelling and got it strapped after 12km

Can I be biased - this is an inaugural race for Cairns and the weather was absolutely wonderful. The course was spectacular.
