Swim
  • 17m 58s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 24s / 100 meters
Comments:

Very hard first 100 meters. Lots of bumping, people swiming side by side. Hard to get around bouys. Back stretch was better. Got in the groove of swimming. End was hard to sight the last bouy to exit ocean. Swam in a curve instead of a straight line.
What would you do differently?:

Swim arund bouys further out instead of right next to them.
Transition 1
  • 01m 23s
Comments:

Transition went well. Forgot to put on race belt with bib, but not a big deal at this small venue. Cleaned feet in pan of water. Put goggles and cap in water.
What would you do differently?:

Take GU! Think I need it here. Need to learn how to mount bike faster.

  • 12.43 miles
  • 18.41 mile/hr
Comments:

Saw people drafting! Passed a few people, was passed by a few. Tried to keep pace at 18 mph.
What would you do differently?:

Need to learn how to mount bike faster.
Transition 2
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

Went well, but time compared to others' was poor.
What would you do differently?:

Put hat on while running. Learn how to dismount bike faster.
Run
  • 30m 16s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Hard to keep pace by self. Very few runners around me. Tried to stay below 10 min pace.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I tried very hard, gave all I had.
Post race
Warm down:

DId't find food right away. Felt very dizzy, had to sit for a while. ONce found bananas and bagle I felt better. Would have liked some Gator Aide. Race only had water. :(

What limited your ability to perform faster:

SWIM! Have to work on calming down in the swim. Never got to bilateral breath!

Event comments:

There were no officials out on the bike course. Saw several sets of drafters. No finisher's medals given. Only had water for post drink. Would hve liked Gator Aide. Food station hard to find almost thought they didn't have anything.
