Swim
Comments: Terrible terrible swim, just never got comfortable in the water and it was very low due to no rain. My breathing and form were just terrible. I'm talking so low you could even get a full stroke in without touching the bottom in some places and grass was rubbing my chest during the whole swim. Got a few good kicks and head butts from other swimmers but this was all on my and being too anxious in the beginning. What would you do differently?: RELAX!!! Its only a 300m swim and I know I can swim much better because I did in the swim at Kemhah Transition 1
Comments: I decided to run the bike through transition with my shoes on because of a lack of practice leaving them clipped in. The transition was all grass so that was interesting. I wasted too much time getting my socks on. For an event this short, I think I'd go without socks if I do it again next year. What would you do differently?: No socks for races this short and practice jumping on the bike. Bike
Comments: Maintained a good pace going against the wind, did between 15-17mph for the first leg and then hammered it home coming back with the wind. Maintained 25-27mph coming back and got up to 30mph right after the turnaround. Very happy with my bike performance and I only hope to get faster. What would you do differently?: Continue strength training so I can maintain faster paces into headwinds. Transition 2
Comments: I made T1 my get everything on transition so all I had to do was rack the bike, take off my helmet, and throw on my running shoes. Had a really good dismount although I had a little trouble getting my feet on top of the shoes, it didn't affect my transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing, just get a little faster running with the bike. Run
Comments: This is by far my most improved event. At the same race last year I avg 11:34 miles, an over 4-min for per mile decrease. Run felt good for the most part, but when I tried to kick at the end the trail got bad so I didn't want to injure myself, even though finishing 15 seconds off the podium kinda stung. What would you do differently?: Continue working speed training and it will get faster. Post race
Warm down: Water, muscle milk, and relaxed. What limited your ability to perform faster: Too much anxiety on the swim, strange since I felt fine in Olympic distance but it will come with time. I amped myself up a little too much. Event comments: I really enjoy the Outloud events, but something just didn't seem right with this one. The speaker system wasn't set up when I finished and they were still getting things organized. The lake is too shallow to swim when there hasn't been much rain and the after-party that I remember enjoying so much last year wasn't there. No Double Daves and no party equals 'BOO', but I will continue to run in Outloud events and will probably do this race again next year to give it another chance. Last updated: 2011-03-15 12:00 AM

Woke up a 4 and had a bowl of cereal with some coffee.
Had a banana while waiting in the transition area and stretched a little. Went for a quick swim since the water was a little chilly to get warmed up.
