Comments:

Well, not a bad race given I've never run anywhere near 13 miles before. Had a good pace in the first half, but kinda died on the second. Feet really hurt on the way back and legs started cramping with about 2 miles to go.
What would you do differently?:

Train more. Tell my sister I need a little more than 3 weeks to prepare for a half marathon.
Post race
Warm down:

There really wasn't much of a warm-down. It was pouring down rain, and there was nowhere to warm-down without getting wetter and more miserable. Walked back and forth under the shelter.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

insufficient training.

Event comments:

It was the inaugural year for this race so I hope they took away some lessons learned. They only had one timer for the two races (I think one broke), so they ended up having to start the 5K and then the half. Total delay was 15 minutes or so.

Post race activities were non-existent. I don't know if that's because of the rain, or they didn't plan any.

Course: Flat out and back on Yough Trail. Beginning scenery included warehouses, abandoned buildings and a bizarre ghost-town trailer park, complete with old Airstream trailers. It got much better after mile 3 or so.
