Overall Rank = 322/
Age Group = 50 - 54
Age Group Rank = 10/12
Pre-race routine:

Quick bowl of cereal - get to race early. I always try to get there early. Heck another 30 min of sleep won't make a difference but getting to the race early before the crowds get there is great. No porta potty lines, racks not crowded, etc.
Event warmup:

Not much, just walk around, hang with peeps, then get the wetsuit on. Went for a short swim just to get used to the water.
Swim
  • 27m 59s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

Fairly long run through the water until you get to where you can swim. My heart rate was way up by the time I hit the water. @ laps of this. I'd much prefer to swim than run through the water.
What would you do differently?:

Not much - maybe dolphin dive a bit
Transition 1
  • 03m 25s
Comments:

Wet suit strippers which was nice. Fairly long run to the transition. I just wasn't coordinated this time. I did OK, but couldn't get in sync. Oh well.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure -everything was set up OK, just couldn't get it together.
Bike
  • 1h 26m 31s
  • 24.8 miles
  • 17.20 mile/hr
Comments:

Being from S Florida I don't get a lot of hill training. Significantly slowed me down. But, I thought it was a great course, a lot of fun.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training
Transition 2
  • 01m 48s
Comments:

Took feet out of shoes like almost half mile early :) Thought we were turning toward transition but we weren't. Not a big deal. Little run to T2 but not bad.
What would you do differently?:

Not take feet out of shoes that early out :)
Run
  • 54m 30s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

Nice little run course. Out and back on a paved trail. Half in sun, half shaded. Plenty of water and sports drink. Ran OK, Thought I did better actually but I am satisfied. It was pretty hot by the time I got to the run so I really appreciated the shaded parts.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster
Post race
Warm down:

Nothing much - just stood around with peeps. Grabbed some water and tried a piece of pizza. Ate very little

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Overall fitness

Event comments:

Enjoy this course. Not a large race but a lot of fun.
