Pre-race routine:

Got up 5:00am. Drive to site, set up gear. Ate bagel and coffee.

Comments:

overall pretty good. got passed once, i passed other three times. much better than what i was thinking.
What would you do differently?:

practice swimming more to keep my head down. need better control of my breathing but i was happy that i got though without stopping to catch my breath. a huge improvement over where i started this summer

Comments:

no problem here, i practiced several times. was happy for my first time. no speed demon but i got though it fine. had trishorts for swim, threw on a cycling jersey, gloves, watch, RoadID, and helmet.
What would you do differently?:

get a waterproof watch and wear it in the pool. may get a trishirt to wear for the next race.

DNF! crashed in a turn, went down HARD. blew rear tube. out of race.

Warm down:

hitch a ride back to site, cleaned my wounds and suffered from my wounded pride.

Stopped by the Urgent Care for x-rays. Seems like nothing is broke but my rotator cuff is bruised pretty bad. arm in a sling, minor road rash and taking pain meds now. better luck next time.
