Comments:

Went out possibly a little too fast. My HR climbed right up to 160 in the first 1/4 mile, which is very close to my LT, but the RPE felt right. Wasn't sure how it would fare after a few miles, but I kept on running and was able to hold pace/intensity through the race at an average of 165 or higher- which is my LT. Even had enough left to pick it up the last two miles to a 6:45 pace- but it was hurting at this point with my HR in the low 170's.
What would you do differently?:

I PRed by 30s/mi. Differently? Man- I nailed it. ain't no better out of these legs.
Post race
Warm down:

nada. jogged to the car to get some dry, warm clothes as it was really raining.

Event comments:

Steve Landau runs nice events. He even posts photos for free and the Etched beer mugs as awards are terrific. Pouring rain today- but there were two huge tents set up in the field for t-shirts, brunch and the awards ceremony. So- all worked out nicely. If I had one suggestion/request: Some recovery drink (Endurox or the like) at the end. Oh, and not every mile had a mile marker. Big thanks to all the volunteers who stood out there in the cold rain!

Performance: Good
Basically ran at LTHR the whole race- an average of 165, then let it go anerobic for the last few miles. that's when it got painful. Pace was pretty consistent- given the ups and downs of the course.
Course: Fairly flat for around here. Gentle climbs for a total of 300ft elevation change.
