Pre-race routine:

Got up about 4 am to make the 1 hr or so drive to Dayton.

Walked around and tried to stay warm. Did a little stretching.

Comments:

This was my first marathon, and just wanted to keep a slow pace. Got going a little fast at times early and I paid for it at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Try to keep my planned pace early in the race.
Post race
Warm down:

Just tried to keep from passing out. The last few miles were really tough and I wasn't sure I was going to finish without collapsing.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training leading up to the race and experience in running a marathon that would have helped when things got tough on the last 6 miles.

Event comments:

My first marathon, but everything seemed to be well run. Congrats to the staff and volunteers.

Course: Mostly flat with a few small hills and one longer hill. Most of the course was on the base, but one section was in the city of Fairborn which was fun.
